Sergeant Eugene "Buster" Harper was nominated by Carol Harper of Mid Florida Agencies.
Sgt. Harper has served his country and neighbors in more ways than one. He served in the Reserves of the U.S. Army National Guard for over 10 years and in the U.S. Coast Guard for over 11 years. He began his law enforcement career at Wildwood Police Department, spending one year there before being hired by the Marion County Sheriff's Department in 2001. At the Sheriff's Department, he served on SWAT, the Field Force Unit, the Marine Patrol, Civil Service, and Patrol Sergeant. He has received multiple commendations, accolades, and citizen compliments throughout his career.
In addition, he established a new nonprofit in 2022, Faith Family Camp, Inc., to serve families in and around Central Florida.
