Mr. Higley is well-rounded in his EMS knowledge, skills, and abilities. He has demonstrated the highest degree of commitment and participation in activities within the fire department. Mr. Higley exemplifies the virtues of professionalism and dedication. He always supports others' efforts to improve and advance in the EMS field. Mr. Higley has demonstrated a distinct pattern of positive community service and is a positive role model for the fire department. His appearance, professional behavior, and compassionate medical care always gain the public's trust.
Mr. Higley is passionate about supporting the youth in his community. He delegates tasks to each crew member to accomplish the goals quickly and effectively. He was the lead medic on an 18-year-old cardiac arrest where they regained ROSC, and the young man walked out of the hospital without any deficits. Mr. Higley demonstrated a calm and confident demeanor, leading all members, which greatly impacted a positive outcome for that young patient. He is one of the most humble employees at Boynton Beach Fire Rescue.
Outside of his role, Mr. Higley is involved in various health and wellness initiatives and emergency preparedness and response activities.
