Lieutenant Travis J. Cox is a dedicated public servant whose leadership and community engagement extend well beyond his role with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Through his work in law enforcement, civic organizations, and faith-based initiatives, Lt. Cox demonstrates an unwavering commitment to safety, education, and empowerment.
A 2021 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, Lt. Cox is also an active Board member of the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation, where he helps support educational and character-building programs for local youth. He is deeply involved with his church, where his leadership continues to inspire and guide others in service.
Lt. Cox was recognized for organizing and leading a comprehensive active shooter training drill for local schools—an initiative that has helped strengthen emergency preparedness and potentially save lives. He also spoke at the national Sunday School Publishing Board (SSPB) Conference, sharing his expertise on improving security in places of worship and offering actionable steps to keep congregations safe.
