The Jamesport Fire Department is a vital part of the North Fork community, always ready to respond when neighbors need help. Recently, crews quickly handled a morning fire at Yoder’s Sausage Kitchen, limiting damage and ensuring no one was hurt. This is just one of many examples of their skill and dedication.
Their role goes far beyond emergency calls. Each year, the department brings the community together with its annual carnival and parade, a fun-filled tradition featuring rides, games, and fireworks that celebrates Jamesport’s close-knit spirit.
The department also hosts an annual open house, welcoming families to see what firefighters do up close. From hands-on demonstrations to fire safety tips, it’s a great way for residents to connect with the people who keep them safe.
In support of the department’s work, the Jamesport Fire Department Association received a $5,000 grant from Suffolk Credit Union and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, helping strengthen services for the community.
