About The Woodlands Fire Department

The Woodlands Fire Department was nominated by Rudy Garcia of Five Rings Financial.

The Woodlands Fire Department has a long-standing tradition of serving the community. For example, former members organized the Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch on March 9, 1997. The founders of the Support Branch, all former members of the Woodland and Springlake Fire Departments, felt that there was a need to form a local group to preserve the fire history of these departments (the two departments merged in 1982).

Starting with 28 members, the Support Branch quickly obtained its non-profit status (501(c)(3)) with the State of California to help finance its goal of historic preservation. Over the last 20 years, the Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch has acquired and restored several antique apparatuses that served the City of Woodland and the State of California. The Support Branch continues serving as the custodian for the Woodland Fire Department's antique apparatuses.

The Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch is always welcoming new members. Along with their many service projects, workdays, and community outreach, they have monthly meetings to discuss upcoming events, plans for the apparatus, and ways to help their community better. If you are interested in joining the Support Branch, you are welcome to attend any meeting. Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of every month in the Woodland Fire Station 3 Training Room at 1556 Springlake Court.

The City of Woodland Fire Department is truly a historic institution. For over 150 years, the Woodland Fire Department has worked to protect its community from the dangers of fires. Today the Fire Department continues this community service with all the modern resources at its disposal.

The Fire Department serves its community with three permanent fire stations, each staffed by firefighters 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to fighting fires, the department attempts to prevent fires before they occur by providing educational outreach to people of all ages within the community and Fire Prevention services.
