Deputy Sheriff Cornelius Polk II values time as the only commodity you can never get back. Giving someone or something your time goes a long way. Deputy Sheriff Polk has positively impacted the young adults he has come across over this past decade. He has mentored men and women in the Dallas area and has been a lifeline and guide, from giving life-changing advice to being a listening ear.
"In speaking with several of the young adults he has mentored, I have learned that Deputy Sheriff Polk has changed the direction or decisions that shaped these people's lives. Knowing the positive impact of giving dozens of young people his time, he has helped unlock the courage it takes to find life's direction and overcome challenges," said Beyer.
"Everyone needs a little help and direction, and with that, there are no limits to what can be achieved," said Polk.
Along with mentoring young adults in the Dallas community, Deputy Sheriff Polk and his wife passionately serve the nonprofit organization "The Source of Hope" dedicated to providing hope, wellness, and education to needy individuals. He is a dedicated volunteer who works to serve those in need throughout the DFW community, such as at-risk families, veterans, and first responders. Deputy Sheriff Polk serves as "The Source of Hope" by organizing fundraisers that raise money to pay for cancer treatments and operations for those who cannot afford the care and treatment, as well as skin/hair graphs for people suffering from Alopecia. Quite possibly the most spectacular of all of his endeavors, Deputy Sheriff Polk also arranges and brings together the monthly feeding of 5,000 individuals at the local Cornerstone Kitchen in Dallas.
