Patrick Nwadinigwe, Community Engagement Officer
Dallas College Police Department
Dallas, TX
Officer Patrick Nwadinigwe was nominated by Dorian Martinez of Our Infinite Company.
Officer Nwadinigwe is the definition of service, not just by profession, but by the way he lives his life every single day.
Originally from Nigeria, his journey to the United States began through a visa lottery his mother won. He arrived at 18 years old and built his life from the ground up. He attended high school in Richardson, TX, continued his education at Richland College, and worked at Bank of America before answering a higher calling: law enforcement.
In 2014, Officer Nwadinigwe attended Police Academy while working part-time, and by December 2015, he graduated and fully stepped into his role of protecting and serving. Today, he serves with the Dallas College Police Department, continuing to impact lives on and off duty.
One moment that truly defines his character happened in 2017. While off duty and working traffic control at AT&T Stadium during a Dallas Cowboys event, a woman stopped at a red light in distress, telling him her husband was dying. Without hesitation, Officer Nwadinigwe rushed to help. He performed CPR and saved that man's life. Two weeks later, he was contacted by Arlington Police and recognized publicly, even appearing on TV.
The man later confirmed that Officer Nwadinigwe saved his life. For this act of courage and compassion, Officer Nwadinigwe received a Life Saving Award from the Arlington Fire Department, but his impact doesn't stop there.
He is a devoted father of four children, balancing the responsibility of raising them while also caring for his parents. Family is everything to him. He is one of six siblings, with family both in the United States and Nigeria, and he continues to give back internationally by donating clothing to women's shelters and supporting communities in Eastern Nigeria (Imo State).
Officer Nwadinigwe believes deeply in education and opportunity, ensuring his children understand the value of both. His life is built on responsibility, sacrifice, and love, not just for his family, but for his community.
Whether he's wearing the badge, helping a stranger in crisis, or supporting his family across continents, Officer Nwadinigwe shows up. He not only does good, but lives it.
