About Ashley Cammack

Ashley Cammack was nominated by Sylvia Castillo of Our Infinite Company.

Ms. Cammack exemplifies what it means to serve others with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those around her. She has served as an MIH Specialist with the New Braunfels Fire Department since January 2024, but her passion for helping others began long before that. At just 16 years old, she joined the Grey Forest Fire Department as a Junior Volunteer, beginning a lifelong commitment to emergency services and community involvement. During high school, she also served as President of her FCCLA chapter, leading numerous community service projects and developing servant-leadership qualities that continue to define her today.

Throughout her career, Ms. Cammack has consistently demonstrated a heart for service. As a Junior Firefighter, she volunteered countless hours supporting local events, assisting with parking operations, and helping raise funds for community initiatives. She continues that commitment through her ongoing work with the Grey Forest Area Association, where she helps raise scholarship funds for future first responders each year during Cornyval through concession sales and volunteer support.

Ms. Cammack earned her EMT-Basic certification, an associate degree in Paramedicine from San Antonio College, and a Bachelor of Science in Health from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She served as a firefighter with Bexar County ESD 8 and later spent four years as a field paramedic with Schertz EMS before joining the New Braunfels Fire Department. Her compassion for vulnerable populations ultimately led her into Mobile Integrated Health, where she is now a Board-Certified Community Paramedic.

One of her greatest accomplishments has been building the New Braunfels Fire Department's Mobile Integrated Health program from the ground up. Through her vision, determination, and ability to connect people and resources, she has transformed the program into a meaningful community asset that improves access to care and supports patients beyond emergency response. Ms. Cammack championed the implementation of the RightSite program, helping connect citizens with the most appropriate healthcare resources while reducing unnecessary emergency system utilization.

Ms. Cammack also recognized the importance of investing in future healthcare professionals and successfully incorporated an intern program into the MIH division. Through mentorship and hands-on experience, she has helped guide and develop the next generation of providers while strengthening the program's long-term sustainability. In addition, Ms. Cammack has built outstanding local and regional partnerships with hospitals, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community organizations. These relationships have significantly expanded the reach and effectiveness of the MIH program and strengthened collaboration across the region to better serve vulnerable populations.

Outside of work, Ms. Cammack continues to serve her community in remarkable ways. She participates in the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, cycling hundreds of miles to honor fallen EMS providers and support their families. She is also a Lifetime Member and active volunteer with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Livestock Committee, where she works closely with youth exhibitors, helping them prepare and safely present their animals during competitions and events.

"Ashley's leadership, compassion, humility, and tireless commitment to others embody the spirit of the National Life Group Do Good Hero Award. Her impact extends far beyond her official duties, and her work continues to influence countless individuals throughout our community and region positively," said Castillo.
