Angel Vega
Los Angeles Police Department
Los Angeles, CA
Angel Vega was nominated by Kurk Aguilera of Universal Retirement.
"I was privileged to serve with Detective Angel Vega in the US Marine Corps in 29 Palms before the 1st Gulf War," said Aguilera. "Detective Vega was my tank Commander and mentor when I first started in the Marines. Thanks to his leadership and the training he provided, I went on to command my own tank in the Gulf War."
"Looking back, I learned far more from him than just the ability to lead and command my own tank," said Aguilera. "I learned life lessons that have carried me through life. Detective Vega instilled family values, ethics, and morals that I follow daily."
Detective Vega has served his country with honor and spent 20-plus years serving his community in the LAPD. With all the tough times the city of Los Angeles has faced in the last 20 years, Detective Vega has been on the front lines serving this city with honor and grace. Today, Detective Vega protects dignitaries and politicians that come to Los Angeles, a role that keeps him a very busy man.
"I could write a book on Angel Vega's accomplishments, and I am sure it would make an awesome movie someday," said Aguilera. "Angel Vega will soon reach the end of his career with the LAPD, and with the help of plans from National Life Group, I am honored to help him make sure he will retire with the income he deserves to live a comfortable retirement. It is the least I can do for him considering his impact on me and countless others' lives."
