About Michael Pasco

Michael Pasco was nominated by Brian Warner of Five Rings Financial.

It is an understatement to say this young man has a heart for those who serve their communities as first responders. Mr. Pasco not only gives back to his community as a volunteer firefighter, but he also expanded his love for first responders - literally - by marrying a police officer. That's dedication and commitment!

"The Do Good Heroes program is designed for public safety professionals to be recognized for community service activities that extend above and beyond their public safety duty. No one is more suited for this recognition and award than Michael. His desire to give back to those who serve goes back several years and includes events geared to bring those who serve together with the community," said Warner.

Mr. Pasco was the head host of the Wichita, Kansas, Coffee with a Cop program for four years. Under his leadership, the event grew larger each year, allowing the citizens of Wichita to interact with the police officers in their area in a relaxed environment. In addition, Mr. Pasco organized the Officers Down 5K Run & Community Day in Wichita in 2015 and 2016. Mr. Pasco has also served as the Wichita Police Department's Fraternal Order of Police Fundraising Coordinator.

When Mr. Pasco created the First Responders 5K Run & Walk Foundation, he did so with the goal and mission of organizing and hosting an annual 5K Run/Walk, as well as making appearances at other community events to raise funds and bring awareness to the program. This event gives back to a different public service organization each year to help minimize financial burdens.

This year's event will provide funds to two deserving groups: the Butler County, Kansas K-9 Program and the Wichita Police Foundation. Both groups are valuable assets to their community in keeping their communities safe and promoting positive community engagement.

"I would like to say again how much Michael deserves this award and recognition. His desire and unwavering support of those who protect our communities is impressive. I would love to see his hard work and dedication be recognized with this award. In visiting with Michael, the care he shows for others is obvious, and he would be a perfect recipient. Michael Pasco truly is a 'Do Good Hero,'" said Warner.
