About Lisa Citta

Sergeant Lisa Citta was nominated by Jason Hansen of Midwest Family Financial/Five Rings Financial.

Sgt. Citta has a long-standing history of serving the community. She is always donating time, giving back, and meeting her community's needs.

Sgt. Citta came to North Platte Police Department in 2012 and has worked her way up through the ranks of Sergeant. In addition to her assigned duties, Sgt. Citta directed the Police Explorers, a youth organization operated through the police department, focusing on developing positive characteristics and serving the community. 

Sgt. Citta is also heavily active in community organizations. She works with the Lincoln County Ag Society to improve the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and provide programs to the county youth. Sgt. Citta regularly works with the local Habitat for Humanity program and the local Rape and Domestic Abuse Program to help raise funds for their organizations. She recently worked with the North Platte Area Sports Commission with their annual "Celebrity Paddle Battle," encouraging others to participate in physical activity through a pickleball tournament. During the holidays, Sgt. Citta rings bells for the Salvation Army and assists with the Santa Cop Program, where local law enforcement provides Christmas gifts to underprivileged children. She organizes fundraisers for Special Olympics and fundraisers for families who are dealing with medical issues. 

In 2019, Sgt. Citta organized a collection of donated supplies and delivered them to victims devastated by a spring flood in Northeast Nebraska. 

Sgt. Citta has significantly impacted this community and other communities in the state. She presents a "beacon of hope" to anyone in need, which is why she's a Do Good Hero!
