Korey Randleman, Battalion Chief - Recruiting and Training
Greensboro Fire Department
Greensboro, NC
Korey Randleman was nominated by Tye Green of Stone Press Financial Group.
"Before becoming Battalion Chief over Recruiting and Training, Korey was an active Captain at the Downtown Greensboro Engine house. Our office is downtown, just a few blocks from it, and I often would see his Engines moving through the city at his direction, even without an emergency. You'll find Korey talking to the community, shaking hands with children, and posting up at school and community events. This visibility is valuable because the community usually contacts the department during tragedy. Amazingly, Korey understands the importance of the community seeing the department as a part of it. He gives his downtime willingly and consistently in a manner that bonds the community and first responders. He is always a major player in the back-to-school forums, show and tell for community events, and fire safety training for homeowners, and at every food drive I've been at, his engine was there. I've enjoyed playing golf with him at several golf tournaments, raising money and resources for numerous nonprofit organizations. You learn a lot about a person when you spend 5 hours in a golf cart with them, and Chief Korey Randleman is the absolute cream of the crop. I nominate him for National Life Group's Do Good Hero Award. He's already the winner in our book," said Green.
