Officer Lane Harper was nominated by Gwendolyn Taylor of Gwen Tay Marketing.
Officer Harper has always gone over and beyond to ensure the citizens he patrols are safe, unharmed, clothed, and fed. Officer Harper has made sure of this for about 20 years. Officer Harper has a nonprofit organization he gives back to in a big way, with free backpacks filled with school supplies and free turkey giveaways with all the trimmings. Officer Harper also gives back during Christmas with free coats and toys for the children and their families. He also gives back to students attending HBCU universities in Birmingham and Montgomery with the necessities they need during their college years. He maintains a full-time job as a full-time resource officer and holds the executive director position of his Nonprofit Organization.
"Officer Harper is a Do Good Hero who always thinks of others," said Taylor.
On February 14th, 2025, Officer Harper's Power of Life Foundation will be hosting a Valentine's Day gathering at Alabama State University to hand out essential items, provide information about job opportunities, and host discussions on challenges faced by the Black community. Learn more here.
