About City of Medina Fire Department

The City of Medina Fire Department goes above and beyond to meet the needs of their community. From teaching fire prevention and safety classes in schools, to hosting certified CPR training for the community, they exemplify what it means to be National Life Group Do Good Heroes. They even raise awareness around home smoke detectors and free installation for families in need.

In June 2025, the department strengthened its ability to protect residents through a $39,225 grant that funded new turnout gear, a washer and dryer for decontamination, and a fully outfitted brush truck equipped with medical supplies. These upgrades not only enhance firefighter safety but also expand the department’s capacity to respond efficiently to both medical and fire-related emergencies throughout Medina.

In a hands-on community outreach effort, Medina firefighters visited a local preschool to teach children about fire safety. Through interactive demonstrations—like practicing “Stop, Drop, and Roll”—and fun engagement with a dalmatian mascot, the department helped young students learn essential safety habits. The event reflected the department’s dedication to education, prevention, and fostering trust with even the youngest members of the community.
