About Wesley Doolittle

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle was nominated by Cynthia Serafine of Our Infinite Company.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle is a veteran law enforcement leader with more than two decades of service dedicated to protecting Texas communities. After retiring from the Texas Department of Public Safety in September 2022, following a distinguished 22-year career, he immediately continued his service by being sworn in as a Captain with the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office.

Although he began his career working as a pipefitter and welder, he felt a strong calling to public service and law enforcement. In 1998, he attended the former North Harris County College Reserve Peace Officer Academy, now Lone Star College, before being accepted into the DPS Academy in 2000. After graduating as a Texas State Trooper, he was assigned to Cleveland-Liberty County and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Bellevue University.

Throughout his career, Sheriff Doolittle served in a variety of leadership and investigative roles. In 2005, he was promoted to Sergeant within the DPS Criminal Investigation Unit and worked narcotics investigations in McAllen before joining forces with the Drug Enforcement Administration in Houston. His work alongside federal and local agencies helped dismantle a major drug cartel operation across South Texas, earning recognition from the Houston Police Department.

In 2009, Sheriff Doolittle achieved one of the highest honors in Texas law enforcement when he was selected to serve as a Texas Ranger. As a Ranger, he worked throughout the state investigating homicides, officer-involved shootings, civil rights violations, public integrity cases, and other major investigations in collaboration with sheriffs, police chiefs, and prosecutors across Texas. During this time, he also earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University.

Today, Sheriff Doolittle proudly serves the Montgomery County community as Captain over the Criminal Investigation Unit, Lake Patrol, Recruiting, Internal Affairs, and Public Information operations for Precinct 1. Known for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering dedication to service, he remains deeply committed to protecting families and strengthening the community he calls home.
