Chief Ramey Rice is in charge of the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) Police Department, which supports 54 campuses. He leads a team of 19 officers, plus the department secretary, emergency management specialist, two safety technicians, and a night security officer. Chief Rice ensures that all of the AISD campuses are protected and secure on a daily basis. When something occurs in the district, he ensures that the proper procedures are followed to keep students and staff safe. Chief Rice has received multiple commendations, including two life saving awards.
